Objective
Sharpen 1v1 attacking and defending in a high-rep, competitive arena that rewards creativity and bravery.
Set-up
A square arena with a small goal on each of two opposite sides. Two players in, queues at the corners.
How it runs
- Two players go 1v1; you can score in either of the two goals.
- Goal or ball out = next challenger comes in; winner stays on (max 3 in a row).
- Having two goals forces the defender to stay honest and the attacker to change direction.
- Keep it fast — short, sharp duels.
Coaching points
- Attack one goal to shift the defender, then switch to the other.
- Sell the feint with your body, not just your feet.
- Defender: patient, side-on, don't dive in.
- First to react to a loose ball usually wins it.
Common mistakes
- Attackers try the skill too far from the defender so it beats nobody — get close enough to commit them first.
- After the beat, players check back instead of bursting into space — sell the move, then go.
- Players only use their strong foot — award double for a beat on the weak side.
Progressions
- Add a time limit per duel.
- Must use a skill move before scoring.
- Add a third small goal.
Regressions
- One goal only.
- Bigger arena.
- Defender passive to build attacker confidence.
Constraints
- Winner stays on, maximum three duels in a row.
