Possession into Transition — 8v8 Directional Game

8v8 on a directional pitch with two small goals at each end. Teams score by dribbling through the end-line gate. Possession valued — 5 consecutive passes = 1 point regardless of goal. Creates a possession-versus-counter dynamic in a live game context.

• Maintain possession until the right moment to go vertical — don't force it
• CDM role: always available as the safety pass; never hide behind a teammate
• Wingers tracking back: shape on transitions — don't walk, you're needed in the block

• Remove the possession-point rule — winner by goal only — raises risk/reward tension
• Goalkeepers join their team in possession to create +1 overload
